Kids editorial photography and Australian children’s fashion photography are my passion so I was delighted to be commissioned this month by Kid Magazine Australia.
I have spent the last 12 months honing my specialisation in children’s fashion photography, kids editorial photography and kids fashion images so it was a great thrill to be recommended to Kid Magazine for my skills in this area.
It may be commonly said don’t work with children or animals – so perhaps I am crazy – but for me there is no greater reward than capturing amazing clothes on gorgeous little people! With so many fresh brands and new independent labels emerging for children this is a truly exciting area to be specialising in.
If you don’t know Kid Magazine you must check it out! It’s a free online publication that celebrates real life parenting as well as new products for mums and kids. If you like fun, fashion, shopping, food and parenting advice with a hint of humour it’s definitely for you. What I like best about this title – other than new, fresh and vibrant kids editorial images of course – is that it encourages mums to take time for themselves and respect themselves every single day.
Editor Sara Keli (whom refers to herself as ‘Chief Kid’!) briefed me on her vision for the Issue 18 shoot – the vibe was to be a spirited representation of Australian summers showcasing the latest in swimwear and poolside accessories. Sticky water melon, kitsch flamingo motifs, colourful towels and running under the sprinkler all became part of the execution and Sara was thrilled with the end result.
