Golden Ridge Farm Birthday Party

One of the best things about being a Sydney family photographer is watching my tiny newborn photography clients grow into beautiful children. Having shared such a beautiful, vulnerable time in a family’s life it is always a wonderful, rewarding treat to me to be an ongoing part of their journey.

This was the case when I spent a recent weekend with a family who I shot their little one’s earliest days and found myself shooting them again this time for the same child’s 3rd birthday! Where does time go?

The celebration was held at Golden Ridge Farm in Dural and from cowgirl hats to baby animals and a gorgeous barn party there was nothing more a birthday girl could wish for!

The morning began with pony rides, a farm tour and lots of hand-on activities including milking the cows, bottle-feeding baby lambs and lots of cuddles for fluffy ducks and chicks. Wide-eyed and high on life (okay, maybe sugar!) the kids lapped up every moment of the farm experience.

When it was time to eat the muddy-footed little crew headed to the barn where Mum had set up a rustic-chic cowgirl themed party that could be declared very ‘pin-worthy!’ Flowers, bunting, rag-wreaths, a cake with tiny animals wearing party hats and lots of pink made for a dreamy party for little and big people

alike!

Once the food was consumed, the candles blown and the party girl well and truly full of cake we had just enough time for the kids to enjoy the hay bales which proved to be magnificent fun – and I’m not afraid to admit it, a photographers dream!

I headed home with the enormous satisfaction of watching another of my ‘client-babies’ grow into an adorable little person and knowing that my repeat client-families are not just people I know but my friends. Oh and with cake. I do like birthday cake….
