Bula!

So.. I just spent five glorious days in sun soaked Fiji *big sigh*, how it pains me to be back in cold, wet Sydney. The week went way too fast but it was so wonderful to get away, relax and enjoy myself if only for five days. I can now feel my golden suntan fading in seconds, not that you can see it under my tights and cardigan and many other layers as I try and keep warm. Despising winter right now.

We spent most of our time relaxing at the Sheraton Fiji Resort which was five stars of amazingness with six swimming pools, ten or so restaurants and loads of friendly Fijians. We gave the swim up bar a workout as we enjoyed cocktails by/in the pool all while working on our tans. We ate our way from restaurant to restaurant and tried not to look at the bill as we charged it to our room haha.

We took a day trip on Wednesday to Robinson Crusoe Island to snorkel, relax, be entertained with traditional dancing and fire dancing while we ate food cooked in a Lovo (traditional way of cooking food in the ground), we also got to experience crab racing and there were loads of other activities also. We witnessed a Kava ceremony and got to drink some too (I did buy some and bring it home haha). You can stay on the island and it’s very very simple, no five stars there, and because the thought of showing with a bucket actualy makes me smile, I am looking forward to returning to Fiji and staying a few days on the island.

I saw a few sunsets, except Wednesday because it was overcast, and woke early on Friday to capture the sunrise on our last day. It was gorgeous and peaceful to watch and I am glad I was able to experience it. I was sad to leave but as they say, all good things must come to an end. I will be back very soon, I am in love :)

Now that I am back in the land of the wet, cold, busy busy Sydney, I guess it’s time to catch up on my editing :) My snaps below do not do my holiday justice, but a good record for myself all the same. I took a lot of photos so I just picked a few of my faves. Enjoy!
