Lets take a wee trip down memory lane, do you remember this gorgeous session? Well that mumma had her bubba, a little boy and they named him Asher. Proud big sister Keira is just like a little mum to him, rushing off to get the camera to capture the moments, cuddling, kissing and reassuring him as well as giving him his dummy when he cried, I am sure she has been practicing on her dolls. It was all too cute!

Congratulations to Fiona, Craig and Keira on the newest member of your clan. (Fiona wants 8 kids, you may be seeing her again soon :) haha)

Any Sydney resident or really anyone who has crossed the Sydney Harbor Bridge, will have seen the below building, infamous Blues Point Tower. For many years I have looked at it and wondered what it was like inside, was it as umm.. unattractive as the outside, with no balconies and seemingly tiny windows. When Anouk’s mummy told me their address, I was excited.. then.. not so excited, worrying about the amount of light that would be coming in. I needn’t have worried, with big windows and all rooms almost covered in mirrors, I was blessed with a beautiful apartment filled with lovely light and one amazing view!

Not to forget my gorgeous subject, this little munchkin arrived 11 days early, and by all the yawning she did, I think she still wanted to be in her mummy’s tummy curled up asleep. Never have I had such a yawner :) too cute! She reminds me of a little lion in some of the images. ROARRRR!

Stepping into a clients home for the first time you never know what to expect, you hope for the right little nook to create beautiful work within, maybe a blank wall or a funky chair… but above all else, you hope for big windows letting in gorgeous light… well, this home had it all! I was in love with it the moment I walked in, the bed, the chair the children’s rooms, I actually photographed their rooms without them there, they are so beautifully decorated.

Enough about this mumma’s amazing style, (drool below). Being able to capture a family, a child or a newborn, just as they are is such a wonderful experience, you let their personalities shine though and embrace the crazy.. and when Victoria sent me an email to express her gratitude for the images I was able to capture, I was reminded of why I do what I do the WAY I do it. She wrote:

“What can I say? My images have totally taken my breath away. They are superb. They capture my family perfectly – the chaos, the craziness, the love – they are truly us and in my mind perfect. I feel so lucky to have these Elise, I can’t thank you enough for your beautiful work.”

That kind of response to something that also holds a piece of myself is so heart warming. <3

Madeline is only 12 days old, and already the center of her mum and dads world, in the most beautiful way there is. The love these two show to not only their baby girl but to each other is so heartwarming. As they so naturally stared at little Madeline in amazement I was able to capture the realness of this family, the every day moments, including dads first attempt at wrapping her up :)

I am a little behind on my blogging and editing, trying desperately to get on top of things before I head off to Singapore and Thailand next week (yay!), it looks like some things will be left until I return. Not this little munchkin though, ooohhh don’t you just want to squeeze his cheeks? Just a very small peek into Edison’s first photo session, which ultimately wore him out for some super gorgeous sleeping photos. LOVE them!

I am spending this glorious Saturday catching up on all my editing, blogging and chocolate eating!

Meet Naomi, in all her 8 day old newness. Sessions like these and newborns as gorgeous as this, make me very clucky :)

I just love hearing my clients stories, of how they met and how they got to where they are, this is one story that I really adore. Her Mummy is Chinese and Daddy is a Kiwi, they met in London, married in Hawaii and now live in Sydney.. (in the most gorgeous apartment right next to the Opera House, jealous much?) So this multi-national baby has travel in her blood! Lucky little thing :)

While living in London, Charmaine owned and ran a wildly successful cake decorating business Delicious Cake Design, which she is now busy, once again, building up here in Sydney. Check out her amazing talent, there are some very funny cakes on there too :)

I am absolutely in love with this session, loving her little expressions and those toes oh those toes. And the image of Dad settling her, so very real and raw. Enjoy!

I have been a little behind in my blogging but slowly catching up. You may remember this gorgeous maternity session I did of my cousin Elaine, well I was right.. it’s a Girl!

Tiyana was born not long after, a teeny tiny little girl, the newest addition to our ever growing family. She was such an angel in her first ever modeling shoot, the same cannot be said for her cheeky big brother Jonathan, though he did turn up the cuteness when he wanted to.

Congrats again to you both I look forward to watching her grow into the beautiful little person I know she will be :)

Lila, at 2 weeks old is already turning heads, she is beautiful.. petite, like a little pixie if you catch her on just the right angle. She really is just gorgeous. Her big brother Jesse is a man of few words however I managed to get a few laughs and fake sneezes (his party trick, thanks to Grandpa!). He is taking his time sussing out this new crying pink thing that has entered his world, though he is very gentle (as much as a big brother can be) and loving towards his new little sister crying pink thing.

I had such a great time with this family of four and here is just a few of my favorite moments from our session. I love the last shot, Lila is off with the pixies and missing all the fun :)

fresh baked muffins and a perfect sleepy baby, this should be how all my shoots are!! I just may have to alter my booking terms to include fresh baked muffins/cookies/brownies upon my arrival :)

My good friend Saskia gifted a newborn session to her good friend Erin who had just had baby Liam 3 weeks before, Saskia had one demand request.. that she had to could be there too. So Aunty Saskia got to cuddle with little Liam while I got some sneaky photos of the two.

I ABSOLUTELY adore the photo of Liam & Daddy having a snuggle. This was not at all posed, I was standing there talking to Sas and Erin when I looked over and saw them in their own little world, I was quick enough to capture this, it warms my heart beyond words.

Congratulations Erin and Chris, Liam is just perfect!

This session was suppose to take place last Thursday, but a sick child changed those plans and we had to postpone! Those who know me well know my motto “Everything Happens for a Reason” when things are tough and dark clouds hover over me or when things just don’t go to plan, I remind myself of this, even if I cannot always see what the reason may be, I know that there is one. When my Nan passed away last year I reminded myself of this and it helped me though. I even use this motto with the small things, having to postpone this session.. I knew there was a reason (besides a sick kidlet).. that reason I now believe is so that we would have the opportunity to capture these amazing photos, Thursday was raining very hard, Sunday was gorgeous.. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON!

I was delighted to finally meet these two spunks.. Hunter, who is almost 8 weeks, and his big brother Jack, 16 mths. More photos to come soon :)
