How freaking cute is this little girl, at almost 3.. she is full of wonderful words that grace us though her squeaky little voice. I had not seen her in the longest time, and the last time I photographed her was at 9 months, see how much she’s changed. I was so blown away at how grown up she now is. Those eyes, and those curls, she’s just pure cuteness!!

Being half Italian, quarter Chinese and quarter Australian.. She was bound to be stunning… no I am not bias because she is the daughter of my cousin and her husband. Though it is quite obvious she got the Garner genes ;) haha

Lets take a wee trip down memory lane, do you remember this gorgeous session? Well that mumma had her bubba, a little boy and they named him Asher. Proud big sister Keira is just like a little mum to him, rushing off to get the camera to capture the moments, cuddling, kissing and reassuring him as well as giving him his dummy when he cried, I am sure she has been practicing on her dolls. It was all too cute!

Congratulations to Fiona, Craig and Keira on the newest member of your clan. (Fiona wants 8 kids, you may be seeing her again soon :) haha)

Stepping into a clients home for the first time you never know what to expect, you hope for the right little nook to create beautiful work within, maybe a blank wall or a funky chair… but above all else, you hope for big windows letting in gorgeous light… well, this home had it all! I was in love with it the moment I walked in, the bed, the chair the children’s rooms, I actually photographed their rooms without them there, they are so beautifully decorated.

Enough about this mumma’s amazing style, (drool below). Being able to capture a family, a child or a newborn, just as they are is such a wonderful experience, you let their personalities shine though and embrace the crazy.. and when Victoria sent me an email to express her gratitude for the images I was able to capture, I was reminded of why I do what I do the WAY I do it. She wrote:

“What can I say? My images have totally taken my breath away. They are superb. They capture my family perfectly – the chaos, the craziness, the love – they are truly us and in my mind perfect. I feel so lucky to have these Elise, I can’t thank you enough for your beautiful work.”

That kind of response to something that also holds a piece of myself is so heart warming. <3

I adore this little family, I photographed Max when he was just 8 days old, I often still talk about him when I do newborn sessions, he is the only newborn ever who has been so interested in my camera, posing it up as his big blue eyes followed my every move. You can read all about my ‘Max is going to be famous’ predictions on his first blog post in July 2010.

I was also very blessed to photograph Kelly’s sisters wedding recently. It was great to catch up with Kelly, Dean and little Max on the day and I was very excited to find out that baby number two is on its way. A maternity/family session was soon organised, as we crossed our fingers and toes for nice weather, I was once again wowed by Mr Poser here. Hand in his pocket, staring down the lens showing me his amazing blue eyes.. FAMOUS I tell you!!! that second shot, YES he has his hand on his waist!

Super excited to have met Elise, her little sister Camille and their mummy & daddy. I was excited to be meeting another Elise, there are not many of us about.. and even less who spell is the correct French way ;)

With all the rain we were having, we definitely picked a deliciously sunny afternoon.. Though the week before when our session was initially booked in, it was touch and go, and as I was driving to meet this little family, mum called to say it was raining where they were so we postponed until the following week, this was definitely the best decision as I then got stuck in traffic for 60min on a 15min drive but was entertained by the amazing lightening storm that had just begun! Not a photo shoot type of afternoon :)

However the day we postponed until was wonderful, a perfect afternoon for a walk along the water and some family photos. It was slightly confusing with all the Elise’s there, haha and it must be the name because little Elise just loved it in front of the camera, sounds very familiar :D

When I first met Bailey we got off to a bumpy start, while most little children are of course cautious of this stranger to begin with, once I take a few photos and play around a bit they relax right into it. This little guy had myself, mum and dad in a bit of a panic as he was petrified of my camera, he has never seen one so big before and didn’t know what it was, and why the heck I was pointing it at him. When I first pulled it out of my bag, he backed away then RAN!!! all the while looking back to make sure I wasn’t after him.

I persisted and worked my magic (showed him a photo of himself on the back of the camera ha!) and he finally relaxed, which meant we could relax. This is the result of the shoot, a very happy boy and gorgeous little family. Oh yeah and mum is having a baby! but this session was more about Bailey and the family they have been for the past 2 years :)

P.S how adorable is the gap in his front teeth!

I first met this mummy when we were little babies, now I am photographing her little babies.. how cool is that? :)

Keira is 2 1/2, and definitely not camera shy, as long as it is on her terms.. refer to gorgeous grumpy face below! I just adore the image of Keira squishing her belly, was a split second capture, priceless :)

One very very windy Saturday myself and 4 1/2 brave people ventured out to capture their family of 4 right before they become 5, to capture the love, laughter, and fun this family brings.

This family is one of the many wonderful families I have photographed after meeting them while working on my stall at Mathilda’s Market a few months ago. I had such a ball on market day and the only thing better is being able to capture the gorgeous families I met there.

Edit: I just received this beautiful message from mum after receiving her package in the post… “I can’t thank you enough! You are so so talented! and I can’t wait to have you capture my growing family again. They are simply beautiful and I love every one.”

Very humbling and makes me SO happy to know.

I am a little behind on my blogging and editing, trying desperately to get on top of things before I head off to Singapore and Thailand next week (yay!), it looks like some things will be left until I return. Not this little munchkin though, ooohhh don’t you just want to squeeze his cheeks? Just a very small peek into Edison’s first photo session, which ultimately wore him out for some super gorgeous sleeping photos. LOVE them!

I am spending this glorious Saturday catching up on all my editing, blogging and chocolate eating!

Meet Naomi, in all her 8 day old newness. Sessions like these and newborns as gorgeous as this, make me very clucky :)

I just love hearing my clients stories, of how they met and how they got to where they are, this is one story that I really adore. Her Mummy is Chinese and Daddy is a Kiwi, they met in London, married in Hawaii and now live in Sydney.. (in the most gorgeous apartment right next to the Opera House, jealous much?) So this multi-national baby has travel in her blood! Lucky little thing :)

While living in London, Charmaine owned and ran a wildly successful cake decorating business Delicious Cake Design, which she is now busy, once again, building up here in Sydney. Check out her amazing talent, there are some very funny cakes on there too :)

I am absolutely in love with this session, loving her little expressions and those toes oh those toes. And the image of Dad settling her, so very real and raw. Enjoy!
